When there was Era for movies based on automobile storyline then there was this blockbuster movie got released in 2002.
This movie did not only made famous to featured car it was a milestone for actor Jason Statham in his career, which made both the car and actor very famous across the world.
Unlike its parallel famous movie series fast and furious there were only 4 movies got released in this series.
So the movies showcased not only one but 4 legendry car brands.

The Transporter(2002)
In 2002 Jason drove not only one car he drove 2 cars as story unfold, and here is details of both cars
1 BMW E38 735i
This car was used by Jason Statham in first half of the story of the movie. This particular BMW E38 was not a regular car, this was custom built for movie only.
Stock BMW E38 735i comes with semi automatic transmission which was replaced with a manual transmission for the movie.
Stock Engine was also replace with a v12 Engine from its v8 for more power and grunt, which used to produce only 231 horsepower and 320 nm torque.
With its stock Engine E38 735i was capable of reaching only 244 kmph top speed and 0 to 100 in 7.2 seconds, which wasn’t sufficient for movie’s chase scenes.
This 1999 BMW E38 735i was the first European car to come with xenon headlight and integrated sat navigation.
So bmw e38 wasn’t just a car it started a league for transporter movies series and career boom for Jason Statham.

Mercedes Benz W140
In the first part of this movie later Jason Statham drove a Mercedes Benz w140 which was first to launch with side airbags, brake assist kinda safety features.
Mercedes Benz W140 was s class with v8 engine which was producing 362 horsepower and 505 nm torque under its hood.
And the car was able to reach 250 kmph of top speed.
Mercedes Benz W140 was tye first car to introduce brake assist which was working on electronic brakeforce distribution. It was slowing down the car on stopping acceleration force by accelerator padel.
This activity later called as engine braking which reduces the speed of vehicle.
This car was example of well German engeering and introduction of new technology in automobile industry.
German engineer added more adaptive damping system, electronic stability program which later become compulsory and standard feature for all the cars with the time.

Transporter 2(2005)
Audi A8 6.0L W12
In next part of the movie Jason Statham chose an Audi A8 which comes with a 6000 cc W configuration 12 cylinder high power engine.
This mighty engine is enough powerful to reach 100 miles in only 5 seconds time span. Its W12 engine was producing 444 horsepower and 580 nm torque to reach its top speed 250 kmph.
In addition to this car was coming with all wheel drive, automatic transmission
To choose this car for this fast paced movie, was to justify actions and chasing scenes on moving car.
The luxurious design and ultra rapid performance helped a lot to make this movie upto the mark.
Transporter 3(2008)
Audi A8 6.0L face-lift
In the next part of this movie series same car was used but with face-lift version of the previous car.
In this movie face-lift version was equipped with armored customs.
Car was updated with some more safety features like, side assist and lane assist.
In these 3 parts of transporter movie Jason Statham drove BMW E38 735I, Mercedes Benz W140, Audi A8 6.0L W12 and Audi A8 6.0L face-lift armored version.
But in second part of the transporter series there was another unique car used in the movie
Lamborghini murcielago roadster
In a chase scene, there was a lamborghini murcielago roadster who made that scene very dramatic and thriller.
Lamborghini murcielago roadster is very powerful and quick sports car which has top speed of 330 kmph and it reaches at 100 kmph in just 3 seconds.
Murcielago comes with 6.5 liter v12 Engine which produces 650 horsepower and 660 nm torque.
There are 2 transmission option for this car, one is 6 speed manual transmission and an automatic transmission.
Transporter refueled(2015)
Jason Statham was featured as character, Frank Martin only in 3 parts of the transporter movies series where he was replaced with Ed skrien.
Former Frank Martin (Jason Statham) had signed only 3 movies with transporter team and he was approached first to play same character in next 4th movie too but plan didn’t work after negotiations between both parties.
The transporter refueled movie was stared by Ed Skrien and there was used this car from same brand as previous parts
Audi S8
The car was used with 4.6 liter v8 twin turbo which was producing 513 bhp and 630 nm torque.
This car was also four wheel drive which was using 8 speed automatic transmission to transfer the power to rear wheel of the car.
This car was also modified to meet the criteria for this iconic movie. So first modification was to make this 4 wheel drive car into rear wheel drive car for drift scenes.
As this car was highly equipped with safety features so modification team removed powersteering, anti skid and abs system as well.
Differentials were blocked to make drifting possible from this 4 wheel drive car.
After removing such components it wasn’t easy to drive this car on movie set, there were soke issue related to its electronics components which were kept popping us as hazard for most safest car in the world.
